With deep love and sadness, we announce the passing of our dear mother, Lucille J. McGuigan, who left us peacefully on April 6, 2025, at the age of 88. She was a woman of warmth, humor, and unwavering devotion to her family.
Born on August 27, 1936, Lucille grew up in a world she would color with creativity, kindness, and a little bit of sparkle. She loved crafting, Bingo, murder mysteries, and feeding anyone who walked through the door.
If there was a bingo hall open, Lucille had a seat marked with her lucky troll and a stack of cards ready. She loved the game for the thrill, the company, and maybe a little bit for the prizes. But win or lose, it was always about fun — and maybe just a touch of friendly competition.
She truly enjoyed the many friends she had on the block at her 218th street home.
And let’s not forget one of her favorite pastimes: curling up with a gossip magazine. From Hollywood love triangles to royal drama, she stayed in the loop and never missed an issue.
Lucille was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend who made everyone feel welcome, heard, and cared for. Her sense of humor, her creativity, and her genuine interest in the world around her made her truly unforgettable.
She is survived by James, Paula, Vincent, Diana, Richard, Patty, and her grandchildren, Richard, Alena, Nicholle, Tyler, James, Morgan, Marley, and her pet cat Smokey. Who will forever cherish the memories, the laughter, and the love she so freely gave. She is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Sr, and her son, Thomas Jr.
A celebration of Lucille’s life will be held on Friday, April 11th, 2025, at R. Stutzmann and Son Funeral Home, where we will remember her with stories, smiles, and maybe a few bingo cards in her honor.
Mom, your glue gun may be unplugged, your magazines unread, and your bingo cards tucked away — but your love, your laughter, and your legacy will live on in all of us.
