Lucy Belle Williams

Lucy accepted Christ at an early age and joined the Saint Mathis Baptist Church under the pastorage of Rev. Green. She married Mr. Lonnie Williams and they had one child that preceded her in death from this union. Lucy was later blessed with two more children: Juanita Ann Tarver and Michael Williams and moved to New York City several years later.

Lucy found immense joy in spending time with her family as well as playing cards with her neighbors and friends. She was blessed once again with two additional children, Leon Smalls Jr. and Tony Smalls. She lived in the Bronx, NY and later moved to Manhattan. Her final place of residence was in Rosedale, NY until she peacefully fell asleep on October 9, 2021, in the comfort of the Hillside Manor Rehabilitation Center.

Lucy was preceded in death by her parents, one child, three brothers: Johnnie, Jessie & Charlie Simpson and one grandson Derrick Boston. She is survived by her faithful and devoted longtime partner Leon Smalls; four children: Juanita, Michael, Leon Smalls Jr. and Tony Smalls; two grandchildren & a host of great great grandchildren; four sisters: Kate Mims, Geraldine (Jerry) Cochran, Straddie (James) Briggins, and Pinky (John) Zackery; two brothers: Walter Cross, Walker Simpson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins & friends.

A memorial service for Lucy Belle will be held Saturday, October 16, 2021 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at R. Stutzmann & Son, 22439 Jamaica Ave, Queens Village, New York 11428.
