Patricia F. Wong departed from us on July 25, 2022, after a long battle with cancer. Patricia was born to Romulo Alfonso Astudillo and Laura Beatrize Mora in Ecuador. She came to the United States in 1975 along with her siblings Walter, Teresa, and Margarita. Where they ended up living in Brooklyn, NY to begin the new journey of their lives. She had three beautiful children whom she loved so much. Her firstborn son Erick A. Crespo, Patricia M. Wong aka. Chichi and Karina A. Wong.
Patricia from a young age loved music and dancing. There wasn't anybody or anything that could stop her from that. She enjoyed creating great memories and moments with her family and friends. To have known her is to love her. Everybody knew that if they needed words of encouragement, transparency, a listening ear, or a patron shot they could rely on her. She was hardworking, a woman with many different hats, there was nothing she couldn't do. She always said, "you make the money, don't let the money make you." She loved traveling, especially going back home to visit her family in Ecuador. Her biggest dream was to go on a trip to Greece.
Patricia's love for life and wanting to enjoy life was enhanced when was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005 and was able to beat it in 2006. However, between 2017 to now she fought through colorectal-liver cancer. Unfortunately, no matter how hard she fought her body became tired through all the chemotherapy and treatments she had undergone. No one was ever able to tell what she had gone through, she continued to smile and show love to everybody. She always said "si me invitas, yo voy."
Patricia went home to be with her parents and brothers. She leaves behind her children, siblings, nieces, nephews and most importantly her grandchildren Matthew and Jacob. We can't forget about her four-legged baby Prince. She had a large loving family of aunts, uncles and cousins who the agony of her loss is heavy. It goes without saying that Patricia was a source of light and all the people who she touched will forever be a part of them and the memories they shared. Patricia's life should remind us to live life to the fullest, authentically and unapologetically. There is one life to live, let us not mourn her leaving but celebrate her life.
A visitation for Patricia will be held Saturday, July 30, 2022 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at R. Stutzmann & Son, 22439 Jamaica Ave, Queens Village, New York 11428.
