Avis de décès de Andrew "Andy" Kenneth Correia
AUX SOINS DE

Deware Funeral Home

Andrew (Andy) Kenneth Correia, 78, of Brooksville, Florida, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on August 16, 2025. He was the loving husband of Jacqueline (Jackie) Correia, with whom he shared 57 years of marriage and together raised four children.

Born in New Bedford, Massachusetts in 1947 to the late John and Agnes (Takach) Correia, Andy graduated from New Bedford Vocational School. He lived most of his life in New Bedford, where he cherished time with his family. He built a successful career as a licensed plumber and proud owner of Correia’s Plumbing and Heating. Andy was a gifted musician. He was a talented singer and drummer for many local bands, most notably, the popular ‘City Lights Band’ of New Bedford, Massachusetts. Andy was an artist and was also known for his remarkable ability to fix just about any construction, plumbing, or household problem. He was a member of Mullen Hill Baptist Church in Lakeville, MA.

He enjoyed his retirement in the High Point Community of Brooksville, Florida, where he proudly served multiple terms as Vice President. He and his wife, Jackie, spent countless happy evenings at karaoke and Jingle games. Andy enjoyed working in his yard and taking walks with his little buddy, Chico the chihuahua. Andy was a member of the Northcliff Church in Spring Hill Florida. He took great joy in singing with the choir.

He spent summer months in Massachusetts, where he enjoyed visiting family. He always looked forward to helping his kids with household projects. He loved going to Antonio’s Portuguese Restaurant, seafood from Gene’s, and the “occasional” chocolate ice cream cone.

Andy is survived by his wife, Jackie; his son Kenneth Correia and wife Cheryl of Dartmouth, MA; his son Chad Correia of Brooksville, FL, and daughter-in-law Jennifer Correia of Holyoke, MA; and his daughter Melissa (Missy) DeMelo and husband Steve of Warwick, RI. Andrew was the proud pépère of 15 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Andy was preceded in death by his son Keith Correia, brother John Correia, and sisters Theresa Presner and Nancy Charette.

Prior to his passing, he received exceptional care from St Luke's emergency department, Beth Israel Deaconess of Boston, MA and AccentCare Inpatient Hospice Center of Milton, MA. The family is deeply grateful for their compassionate care.
