Margret grew up in Minden, Germany where she was born in 1942. She later immigrated to Canada where she learned English, worked, and raised her family. In 1983, she moved to the U.S. to settle in Indiana for many years. A return to Germany and her family there was followed by another move back to the U.S. to Quincy, Massachusetts.
Margret faced many obstacles in her life, from surviving World War II and growing up in post war Germany to immigrating and working in two countries foreign to her. Her strong work ethic was an example to follow even as she dealt with the language barrier. She did all this with grace and fortitude and made friends wherever she was. Everyone who knew Margret benefited from her unwavering kindness and beautiful spirit.
Margret was a gifted seamstress and loved making things with her hands, infusing everything she did with love whether it was a knitted scarf or a perfectly baked cake. Her motto was to do every task with love, no matter how small.
Margret is preceded in death by her loving mother Anna Jacobs and sister Ingrid Radig. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Manfred Kuehn and three children Petra Gould, Sabine Kuehn, and Beate Golding, as well as two sisters Helga Wolschendorf and Anne Gemoll. She also leaves behind two grandchildren Bianca McLemore and Sofia McLemore to celebrate her life and mourn her loss.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in Quincy, Massachusetts. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that loved ones celebrate Margret’s life with a donation to The Alzheimer’s Association
