

Mrs. Ethel Lee Locklear of 280 Clifford Road went to be with her Lord on Sunday, March 23, 2014 at the age of 87. Mrs. Locklear was born in Robeson County on June 14, 1926 to the late John and Rosetta Bullard Locklear. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Colonel Locklear and her son, Allan Ray Locklear, six brothers and sisters, and four grandchildren. She was a farmers wife and a homemaker before being employed with Converse, Royal Development and later retired from Black and Decker. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her sons, Claude E. Locklear of Red Springs, Wesley Locklear of Pembroke, Jesse C. Locklear, Jr. of Red Springs; her daughters, Carolyn L. Oxendine (Frank) of Hope Mills, Anna Jane L. Currin (Mickey) of Ramseur, Elaine L. Hollingshead of Red Springs, Del Rose L. Lowery and Doris L. Locklear (Bosco) both of Pembroke; a brother, Wilbert Locklear (Dorothy) of Fuquay Varina; a sister, Lena Wade of Red Springs, 16 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and 6 great great grandchild. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at Crumpler Funeral Home-Red Springs from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Funeral service will be 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at Galilee Baptist Church with Reverend Donald Bullard officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
