Mrs. Evelyn Esther Edwards Fields of 509 West 5th Avenue, died Sunday, March 13, 2011 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst at the age of 87. Mrs. Fields was born June 13, 1923 to the late Hazzard and Esther Barefoot Edwards. Her husband, Henry Harold Fields preceded her in death. She worked at Burlington Industries until she retired in the mid-80's. Survivors include two sons: Lawrence Fields of Raeford and Clyde Fields of Dallas, TX; two daughters: Jean Chavez of Pittsboro and Catherine Wyatt of Raeford; 9 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. The family will receive relatives and friends between the hours of 7:00 and 9:00 P. M., Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at Crumpler Funeral Home, 131 Harris Avenue, Raeford, NC. Funeral Services will be 11:00 A. M., Thursday, March 17, 2011 at Crumpler Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Tex Deaton officiating. Burial will be in Parker United Methodist Church Cemetery.
