

Mrs. Gracie Worrell Humphrey Hopkins died Friday, January 28, 2011 at the Whispering Pines Nursing Home in Fayetteville at the age of 95. Mrs. Hopkins was born in Surry County NC on February 11, 1915 to the late F. Marion and Mary Etta McRoberts Worrell. She was preceded in death by her husbands, C. Hilbert Humphrey and James R. Hopkins. She was a faithful member of Lumber Bridge Baptist Church and her hobbies were quilting, crocheting, knitting and working crossword puzzles. She was a loving and caring person to everyone. Survivors are one son, C. H. "Buddy" Humphrey Jr. and his wife Linda of Topsail Beach, NC; four daughters, Nora Ann Pait and her husband James of Whiteville, NC, Mary Ellen McKeithan and her husband Cecil of Raeford, Nancy H. Fox and her husband Prentice of Fayetteville, Jean H. Grubbs and her husband Glenn of Aberdeen, NC; a brother Thomas Paul Worrell and his wife Loretta of Lumber Bridge, NC; two sisters, Beatrice Mabe of Lumber Bridge, and Mary Thomas of Fayetteville, NC; 13 Grandchildren; and 15 Great-Grandchildren A visitation will be held Sunday, January 30, 2011 from 2:00 until 2:45pm at Crumpler Funeral Home Chapel in Red Springs, 220 East 4th Avenue. Funeral Services will be held Sunday, January 30, 2011 3:00pm at Crumpler Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Gerald Tew officiating. Burial will be in the Humphrey Family Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Lumber Bridge Baptist Church, 200 Church Street, Lumber Bridge, NC 28357.
