He came, he saw, he conquered. He laughed, he loved, he learned, he libated. Herbert ""Chuck"" King, age 68, of Raeford, North Carolina began eternal rest on June 3, 2020. Chuck was born in Suffolk, Virginia on October 8, 1951. He played trumpet in the I.C. Norcom High School marching band. A natural extrovert, he pursued his passion working with the public as a Radio DJ at WHIH and WRAP in Portsmouth, VA before joining the U.S. Air Force providing 22 years of service. While serving on active duty, his adventures included a myriad of domestic and international duty stations in Asia, Europe and the South Pacific. His military assignments also afforded him diversity in career fields to include positions as an Electrician, Logistician, and Postmaster before he was honorably discharged. Chuck was outgoing and outspoken by nature and enjoyed many fundraising and teambuilding opportunities as a member of the Shriners and as a Freemason.
