Mrs. Margaret Douglas McGirt, age 79 of Shannon, NC died Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at her home. Mrs. McGirt was born in Robeson County on February 25, 1935 to the late Roscoe and Ora Locklear Douglas. She is preceded in death by her husband John McGirt, Jr. a brother, Buddy Douglas and a sister Carol McVicker. She was a member of Shannon Assembly of God. Mrs. McGirt is survived by her son Ricky McGirt (Beth) of Shannon, NC, three grandchildren Amy McGirt, Rikki McGirt and Brock McGirt, four great grandchildren, NyAsia Carter, Jazzy Carter, Johnathan McGirt, and Robert Douglas. A visitation will be held 3-4 pm Saturday November 1, 2014 at Shannon Assembly of God 15354 NC 71 Shannon,NC. A Funeral Service will be 4:00 pm on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at Shannon Assembly of God Pastor Rick Dial, Pastor Mark Jacobs, Pastor Tim Gore officiating. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery, 800 Lombardy Village Road. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to, Hospice Foundation of Hoke Co., P.O Box 1584 Raeford, NC 28376.
