Mildred Walker Sandy

Mrs. Mildred W. Sandy of 112 Will Johnson Road, died Monday, May 16, 2011, in her home at the age of 74. Mrs. Sandy was born on December 3, 1936 in Robeson County to the late William (Buck) and Maggie Walker. She was a member of Philippi Presbyterian Church where she served as Elder. She was very active in Relay for Life as long as her health permitted. Mrs. Sandy was preceded in death by her brother, James Walker. Survivors include her husband: Leslie Sandy of Raeford, NC; two sons: Ricky L. Sandy and wife Kathy of Raeford, NC and Allen Sandy of Coconut Creek, FL; a special son, Michael Fox of Coconut Creek, FL; one brother, William (Gene) Walker and wife Dorothy of Hope Mills, NC; one sister, Carol Rainwater and husband Bill of Mobile, AL; a special sister, Phyllis McCaffity of Raeford, NC; one sister-in-law, Maitland McNeill of Maxton, NC; one granddaughter, Lindsay Orem of Leland, NC and one great granddaughter, Channing. The family will receive relatives and friends between the hours of 7:00 and 9:00 PM, Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at Crumpler Funeral Home, 131 Harris Avenue, Raeford, NC 28376. Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM, Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at Philippi Presbyterian Church with C. L. P. Herman T. Autry officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
