Robert James McGarry

Robert was born in Lancashire England on the 29th June 1957, and was the eldest son of the late John and Hazel McGarry.

Despite poor health he loved to volunteer alongside Robin with the Rockfish Church Raeford NC Outreach Team, which brought him much happiness.

Robert was also known as British Bob, and loved to meet new people and help whenever he could. He was an accomplished mechanic, turning his hand to anything with an engine. He also loved playing darts, and supported the grass roots interest in Savannah for many years. He was much loved by people who met and came to know him, for his gentle and playful nature, and warm humor.

He is survived by his brothers Andrew McGarry (Shirley) and John McGarry; his uncle, Peter Turner (Jacqui); and his nephew Christoper McGarry (Jessica).

A visitation will be held at Crumpler Funeral Home Chapel, 131 Harris Avenue, Raeford NC, at 1pm on Saturday 27th January 2024, followed by a service at 2pm. Anyone who knew and loved Robert is welcome to join us.

In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the American Cancer Society which funds vital research, promotes early detection, and helps develop treatments for people facing lung cancer.
