Dateline: Raeford William Fred Hendrix of Raeford passed away at his home at the age of 87. Mr. Hendrix was born in Hoke County on April 26, 1926 to the late James Robert Hendrix and Maggie McDonald Hendrix. He served in the United States Army during WWII and was a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Robbie Kay Hendrix McLean. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Elaine Cole Hendrix of Raeford; a daughter, Brenda H. Barr and her husband, Sanford of Cumming, GA; two grandchildren, Greg McLean of Syrma, GA, Brad Barr and his wife, Kristi of Austin, TX; two brothers, Jim Hendrix of Raeford, Earl Hendrix and his wife Hazel of Raeford; two sister-in-laws, Betty Hendrix and Joann Hendrix both of Raeford; several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 at Crumpler Funeral Home, 131 Harris Ave, Raeford. Memorial graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Highland Biblical Gardens with Reverend Steve Hanna officiating.
