

She graduated from Mount Olive College with an Associate of Applied Science degree in 1973 and went on to graduate from Appalachian State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Education and Secondary Education in 1979. After completing her university education, she moved to Raleigh, NC, where she resided until her death. She would later study graphic design at the School of Communication Arts.
In her professional life, she taught evening classes in the Department of Adult Continuing Education at Wake Technical Community College and worked for Wake Medical Center. She was a member of St. Giles Presbyterian Church where she enjoyed singing.
Aleta is survived by her sister Wanda Amos Ray of Charlotte, NC, her niece Katharine Ray Briggs also of Charlotte, Reverend Henry Hall Woodall of Wasilla, Alaska, Doctor Hunter Earl Woodall of Anderson, South Carolina, Cindy Garner of Fayetteville, many cousins and her long-time friend Denise L. Stevenson of Raleigh.
There will be a brief service of inurnment at St. Giles Presbyterian Church in Raleigh at 11:30 am on Sunday, April 10, 2022. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to St. Giles Presbyterian Church.
