Alex was a proud Veteran of the United States Navy, having served in Desert Shield/Desert Storm in Iraq in 1991. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, and his Masters of Business Administration, while working at IBM. There he was an electrical engineer, with the role of project manager. Along with his wife, he was the owner of Generation Salon & Day Spa.
Alex was very involved with his children’s BMX bike racing and Motocross Racing, spending a lot of weekends traveling with them to events. He was a mister fix-it, and was always tinkering with and fixing things. He loved to be outdoors, and took special pride in his lawn. Alex always made sure to include his children in the things that he did, so they could learn as much as they could. The relationship he had with his children meant the world to him.
Aside from his family, Alex was most thankful for his relationship with God. He fought cancer the last three years with a positive attitude and strong will, and always leaned on his faith in God to get through. He can be remembered as saying “God’s got this” many times. A verse that meant a lot to Alex and his family was Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
