He was born August 10, 1929 in Greenville, SC to the late Arthur Lockwood, Sr. and Edna P. Lockwood.
He received his Bachelor degree in 1950 in Chemistry at Furman College.
Art was known for his research and development chemist at STRC. He had several patents and was an author of a number of articles on various man-made fibers.He was generous of supporting various charity groups such as SPCA, Vietnam Vets, Helping Hands mission.
These are just a few. Where there was a need, Art contributed to the need.
He enjoyed eating at a verity of restaurants with his beloved wife Mary. A few of his favorites were Lucky32 and Milton's. Some of the places they would go, knew them by name when they came.
Art will be missed by many folks.
