

She matriculated through school systems around the world, from Colorado to Germany before pursuing a career in banking specializing in deposit operations. Throughout her banking career, she amassed several certifications and lent her expertise through volunteer opportunities including with the Daniel Center for Math and Science financial literacy program. A woman of many talents and always in service to others, she concluded her career working for the Wake County Health and Human Services Department in Raleigh, NC.
While in Colorado Springs, Colorado, she met and married her husband, Christopher in 1982. To that union was born their daughter, Krista. Belinda, also known as Gail or lovingly “Mama Washington” and “Queen B” is known for her bold, sassy, kind personality who makes friends with anyone she meets. She was a lover of music, fashion, reading, and the Denver Broncos. She is loved by many and will be missed.
She leaves to mourn her legacy her daughter; her siblings (Vincent Pollard, Bobby Pollard, Ronell Pollard); her many nieces and nephews including Reji Pollard, her Washington-Dade family gained through marriage; extended family across Colorado, Texas, and beyond; as well as friends who made her life’s journey one to remember.
Belinda is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her sister (Geraldine) and her brother (Paul).
The memorial service was held on Saturday, June 21, 2025 in the Mausoleum Chapel at Raleigh Memorial Park and Mitchell Funeral Home, 7501 Glenwood Ave, Raleigh, NC 27612. For family and friends that were unable to attend, the service was live streamed.
