Following his graduation from Cary High School, Billy supported his family as a butcher. He went on to become a Territory Rep. in numerous counties for NC Equipment Company. Prior to his retirement, he was a Senior Procurement Officer for Martin Marietta. He was an active member at St. John's Baptist Church, serving as a deacon, Sunday school teacher and choir member.
He is survived by his two daughters: Brenda (Mike) Casella and Kelly M. Poole; grandchildren: Shelby Ballard and Aiden Poole; siblings: Henrietta Watts and Horace Poole; and other family and friends.
Family will receive friends on Friday afternoon from 12-2 pm at St. John's Baptist Church, with Funeral Services, officiated by Rev. Richard Wynne and Rev. Scott Hovey, to begin at 2 pm. Interment will follow at Raleigh Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church at 1615A Oberlin Road – Raleigh, NC 27608 or to the American Heart Association.
