Billy Douglas Wells

Billy was born January 19, 1932 in Hampton, Elizabeth City County, Virginia to the late Paul Douglas Wells and the late Alma Glesson Wells. He was a retired farmer and a graduate of the Pennsylvania School for the Deaf. He had a passion for history, old movies and classic cars, as well as an incredible memory. He enjoyed spending time with his Shih Tzu dog, Scruffy.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Patricia Anderson Wells; sister-in-law Cheryl Cordle and her husband Owen of Cary, sister-in-law Rita Kester and her husband Walter of Greensboro, brother-in-law Sam (Andy) Anderson, III and his wife Betty of Austin, Texas; nieces Jennifer Cordle of Cary, Jaime Kennedy and her husband Brian of Chapel Hill, Lisa Fulk and her husband Terry of Advance, Sharon Kester of Winston-Salem, Robin Kester of Greensboro; one grandniece, Kayla Gibby of Winston-Salem, and two grandnephews, Jared and Kendall Fulk of Advance.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 13, 2013, at Mitchell Funeral Home, 7209 Glenwood Ave., Raleigh, with visitation at 2:00 p.m. The burial will follow in Raleigh Memorial Park.
