Carlos Torres

Carlos Torres of Raleigh, North Carolina passed away on Friday, December 27, 2024 at the age of 57. He was born on December 3, 1967 in Michoacán, Mexico, where he grew up a little bit mischievous but very loving.

He worked as a painter, and owned his own business starting in the early ‘90s. He took great joy in his work, and carried out his job with a great sense of professionalism and perfectionism.

He loved the outdoors. Any given weekend he could be found at Jordan Lake, fishing. Camping was a newer passion of his, but he took great joy in exploring the outdoors over the last seven years. He also held a great love for the mountains and the beach. He was incredibly close with his family and was very quick to lend a helping hand to those in need.

He is preceded in death by his father, Esequiel Torres Hermosillo, and his sister, Elvia Torres.

He is survived by his children, Carlos Torres-Pizarro and Alondra Torres-Nava; his mother, Adelaida Aguilar Farias; his sisters, Gloria Torres, Gricelda Torres, and Amparo Torres; his brothers, Esequiel Torres and sister-in-law, Maria Pulido, and Elenat Torres; his nephew, Edgar Duarte Torres, for whom Carlos was a father figure, fishing buddy, confidant, and best friend; and a wealth of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family would like to thank Mauro Berlanga for the care and compassion he showed our loved one throughout his life. In addition to Tommy and Lisa Valentine, Oscar and Martha Reyes and their family, as well as Miguel, Jaime, and Jorge Bravo and their families. They were his family as much as the rest of us. He had more friends than we can count and we would like to thank each and every one of you.

A Celebration of Carlos’ Life was held at St. John’s Baptist Church, 1615 Oberlin Rd A, Raleigh, North Carolina, 27608 on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at 2:00 PM.
