Carol's dad John (my dad's first cousin)  christened me  as my babtisimal Godfather and he and his family were close to us as the Masanotti clan were the only relatives my parents had as new immigrants to Canada  from Italy.

I am sure Carol will be missed by many especially my sister Pamm. I know it has left a big hole in my sister’s heart. I found Carol full of love, laughter & joy. She was always so full of life every time I saw her or heard about her thru my sister even though I know she had sufferings. Looking thru the family photos you can sure tell she loved those grandkids! I send my sympathy, prayers and thoughts  to all the family & friends that have been touched by this thoughtful loving person for I know she will be missed.

How to say in words the loss we feel is so difficult for me and for Waylon,  Your family has been in our lives for close to 40 years -- you aren't friends -- you are family.  We have been through so many experiences together.  Soccer and the "click" as David called us; Las Vegas trip; Christmases; birthdays; weddings; births of grandchildren; deaths of loved ones.  We've watched David and Daryl  grow up, graduate, and get married.  Carol and I talked every day, especially about the Young and the Stupid soap!!  Carol was so supportive when I was going through so much when Waylon was so sick.  I always knew I could talk to my crazy Canadian Italian friend and I would feel better afterwards.  Carol's family, we are here for you always.  She will truly be missed.

We are sadden by the sudden death of our beloved sister-in-law.  To David andDaryl and their family we send our deepest condolences, she will be truly missed.

Words have not come easily to express the deep loss I am feeling at the sudden death of my beloved friend of almost 65 years. Carol and I grew up together on the same street in Montreal.We were always welcomed in each others homes. I knew  all of Carol’s family…aunts, uncles,cousins and grandparents and she knew mine. Our parents were friends. My memories of this time are  precious and plentiful.Carol and I enjoyed reminiscing…mostly laughing when doing so! Although distance made it difficult to maintain our close relationship, we managed. We shared in our happy moments and were a support to each other during sad times. That Carol didn’t live close or that we didn’t see each other often does not lessen the heartache of losing her. Our last FaceTime chat was in February and Carol was her usual spunky self… full of joie de vivre! I am so grateful for the conversation we had, never thinking it would be our last.

Where to begin……..growing up in Raleigh, we didn’t have family nearby.  There were a few family friends that became like surrogate family members.  Not to replace our biological families (because they were important in our lives too), but we created our own family and support system.  The Fothergills were part of that group for us.  When you spend so many weekends together, friends become more like siblings, and adults become more like aunts and uncles.  I have wonderful childhood memories, and Carol and her family were such a big part of that.  Thank you for the laughter, the tears, and the hugs.  I will always love you.

So many memories; soccer, “the bees”, phantom of the Opera, “no running in the house”, the click, cow shirt, shopping in the closet, Las Vegas, Cruise,  South Beach, Angus Barn, Milton’s and precious hours on the phone. We shared life, tears, laughter, tragedy and triumphs. I thank God for you. Bart and I love you “Carol baby”.  I miss you!!

I knew when Carol didn't show up for her Hair Appointment something was wrong.  I could feel it in my soul.   I am in complete shock at this moment.   She loved getting her hair done.  It's funny, because she always wanted to come sooner.  I would say Carol,  you really could come the next week.  But she always wanted to look her best.   
I am deeply saddened to hear about Carol's passing.  I had the privilege of doing her hair.  We became very close as stylist and client, and I always looked forward to our time together. She felt comfortable sharing things with me and I will always cherish that trust. 

Carol, was truly a special person, and I will miss her dearly.  My thoughts and prayers are with the entire family.

Carol was my BFF. Almost every Sunday night Carol and I would communicate about the upcoming week. We penciled in our plans on our  calendars and rarely canceled. Then the adventures began: Apple classes, modeling at Talbots, walking the lazy river, makeup class, Walk For Hope, flying to AZ, Friday fish tour, chiropractors etc. She was always up for an adventure as long as it included lunch . I rarely went out and about without her and if I did the businesses we frequented asked where she was. I enjoyed every minute and can’t imagine life without her. Pamm ❌💔❌💔

Darryl, I'm deeply sorry for the loss of your mother. You showed me such kindness when my grandfather passed, and I want you to know I'm thinking of you and your family now. Sending you all my love and support.

Dear David and Daryl, and John, my very sincere condolences to you and to your loved ones, my thoughts are with you. Time has gone by but the memories have remained, of a unique lady, caring, transparent, sincere, no beating around the bush, funny as all heck, and more. Rare, positive, admired qualities, she would laugh at hearing this. A wonderful person in our lives, one of the special few who bring a smile to our face whenever we think of them or of past moments in their company. I have attached a photo taken almost 45 years ago, September 1981, a little guy’s Christening, I believe! I am sure that I recall at least one parent that day saying ‘make it quick’ as they attempted to maintain control of the photo-op. I am among the many here in Canada who have a lot of happy, long-standing memories and anecdotes of your mom and dad, of your sister, of Carol and Wayne, exceptionally great folks to have known. Take good care of yourselves, I know this loving wish would be top of mind for them, to all of you.

We travelled with Carol to Italy in 2017.  We had a fabulous time.  She was kind, funny and feisty.  We will miss her trips to Toronto.

So very sorry for your loss. I have not seen Carol for many years, but we were friends as teenagers. Carol and her mom gave me a baby shower for my first daughter, and I was also in her wedding party.  John let me know of her passing and we had a long conversation reminiscing about old times. My thoughts are with you.
