She worked as a registered nurse and advocate for patients and families navigating the challenges of cardiac and pulmonary rehab, aging, and illness. She was passionate about helping families and individuals living with memory loss and the challenges of aging.
Carol loved growing and caring for her house plants, curating pottery, dog rescue, and encouraging creativity in everyone around her. She was mother to many, always willing to lend a hand, ear or shoulder that came free of judgement and full of unconditional love. She was a fierce protector “TOWANDA!” and had an amazing way of making most everyone she met feel seen and special.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Ann Goodno.
She is survived by her husband, Bruce Grummer; daughters: Chelsea Armstrong (Mike Armstrong) and Kristen Graham (Scott Graham); Grandchildren: Tyson & Kane Graham, Matt & Alec Maddox, Elizabeth Haman (Peter Haman) and Emily O’Brien; Great- Grandchildren: Charlotte, Jack & Caroline Haman and Step-Daughters, Julie Maddox (Mike Maddox) and Terri O’Brien (Tim O’Brien) as well as extended family and a chosen family of dear friends.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of life and memorial at the Mausoleum at Raleigh Memorial Park on Saturday December 13th at 1:00pm.
