

Born January 31st, 1942, to Dale Charles Ramey Sr. and Gladys Elizabeth Brim Ramey of Surry County, NC. Dale passed away peacefully on February 2nd, 2025 at Duke Raleigh Hospital in Raleigh, NC. Dale grew up as a child in Mt. Airy, NC and later as a teenager in South Boston, VA where at an early age he excelled as a multi-sport star athlete. In 1960, Dale accepted a football scholarship to Duke University as a running back. Upon graduation in 1964, Dale was recruited and hired by Burlington Industries where he first carried his hardworking teamwork approach into his business career. His business resume consisted of many achievements for numerous companies throughout the years, local to NC as well as internationally, developing and managing operations in manufacturing, business development, and human resources.
Dale’s proudest moment of his business career came in 1999 when Dale founded Creative Business Interiors with his family in Raleigh, NC. In 2024, Creative Business Interiors celebrated 25 years in business with their beloved founder. As a leader in business, community services, and church, he was known for treating people with great respect, kindness, and working with them to help them achieve success. He enjoyed meeting people and learning about their lives. His genuine demeanor, great humor, and deep affection for people were a hallmark of his life. He loved to tell stories of life, and they were always inspirational and purposeful to help others.
Dale is preceded in death by his parents, wife Teresa Lee Ramey of 44 years, sister Linda Porter, and Dr. Ralph Willett of High Point, NC.
Dale leaves behind his wife Judith Traynham Ramey of 15 years, daughter Lisa Lee Willett of High Point, NC, son Dale C. Ramey III and wife Suzanne Carr Ramey of Raleigh, NC, son James Ramey and wife Patti Dixon Ramey of Raleigh, NC, and seven beautiful grandchildren, Elizabeth Willett, Lilly Willett, David Willett, Sydney Ramey Jones and husband Logan Jones, Charlie Ramey, and Emma Ramey.
A gathering to celebrate Dale’s life will be held on February 27th, 2025, at 2:00 pm at Mebane United Methodist Church. His family invites friends to come and share memories of Dale and the lasting impact he had on so many lives.
A second service is also scheduled in Raleigh at Creative Business Interiors to celebrate his life with his business family, business friends, and friends. A luncheon in honor of Dale will be served on Thursday, March 6th, at 12:30 pm. Please call 919-786-4800 for further information and to RSVP for the luncheon. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Mebane United Methodist Church, are suggested, honoring his thankfulness and love for his life in Christ.
