

Doris was born October 16, 1926 in Raleigh to the late John Arthur McDade and Thelma Lovey Moody McDade. She was a graduate of Rolesville High School and attended Virginia Community College. Doris was very active in her community as a volunteer with Jaycees, the Junior Women's Club, and the NC Museum of Art. Later in life, she devoted time to lay witness mission trips and was known to be a prayer warrior and faithful follower of Jesus. Doris was a member of Crossroads Fellowship in Raleigh.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Ralph McIver Andrews and Leland Spencer Marshall, Sr.; brothers, John McDade and Sam M. McDade; sisters, Vivian Massey, Mary Miller, Ella Mae Braswell and Frances Eddins.
Doris is survived by her daughters, Sharon Andrews (Jimmy Galliot), Sylvia Dunn and Lynn Alford (David); son, Leland Spencer Marshall, Jr. (Cathy); sister-in-law, Betty McDade; grandchildren, Tammy Dunn, Jennifer Chandler (Jim), Amy Worley (Dustin), Mary Alford, Ben Alford and Elizabeth Alford; and great grandchildren, Katie Beth, Tyler, and Bennett Chandler, Camden Worley, Reagan Gailas, Randy Marshall and Lindsey Russell; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 300 St. Mary's St, Raleigh, NC 27605. Burial will follow the service at Montlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 12:00-2:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made in honor of Doris to a charity of one's choice.
