Dorothy was born in Raleigh, North Carolina on July 22, 1912, to the late Paul and Eunice Andrews Campbell. She was a member of White Memorial Presbyterian Church.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, James Vance Clayton.
Dorothy is survived by her son, James Vance Clayton, Jr. and his wife, Effie Ann Tillman Clayton; and one grandchild, Effie Clayton Tompkins and her husband, Gregory Gerard Tompkins of Garner.
Family will receive family and friends Monday, May 2, 2011 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 300 St. Mary’s Street, Raleigh, NC 27605. A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at Historic Oakwood Cemetery, 701 Oakwood Avenue, Raleigh, NC 27601.
