Dorothy Ferguson Cross

Dorothy Ferguson Cross, 85, passed away on January 30, 2016. Dorothy was born to the late Albert Ed Ferguson and Hallie Martin Ferguson on July 12, 1930 in Raleigh, NC. A Wake County native, she lived in the Leesville area almost her entire life. She was a 1949 graduate of Millbrook High School.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Everette “E.H.” Cross, son, Byron Cross and wife, Pam, grandchildren: Amanda Cross, Morgan Cross, and Matthew Cross; brothers: Donald Ferguson and Carl Ferguson. Proceeded in death by sisters Margie Parker, Sally Ross, Mary Lou Crook, Peggy Sutton and brothers Albert Ed Ferguson, Jr., John Thomas Ferguson, Jimmy Ferguson.

After graduating from high school, Dorothy or "Dot" to her friends, worked for the North Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles for over 10 years. She attended and was active in the Leesville Baptist Church all of her life and served in many capacities over the years.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at 12:30 p.m., Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel, 7209 Glenwood Ave., Raleigh. The family will receive guests from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. prior to the funeral. Burial will immediately follow at Leesville Baptist Church Cemetery, 13305 Leesville Church Rd., Raleigh.
