Dot enjoyed her career with Sears, Roebuck & Company where she worked for many years. Following her retirement from Sears, she worked for NC College Foundation. In recent years, Dot found great joy spending time with her friends and neighbors at the Five Points Senior Center.
Dot is survived by her son, Steven P. Alexander; grandson, Chris Alexander; granddaughter, Heather Ayers; and great grandson, Drew. She is preceded in death by her sister, Maxine; her parents; and her husband, Ralph Stecker.
Funeral services will be held at Mitchell Funeral Home, 7209 Glenwood Ave, Raleigh, on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at 11:00 AM. Viewing will take place at Mitchell Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and again on Wednesday from 10:00 to 11:00 am. Burial in Brier Creek Memorial Gardens will immediately follow the services.
