Edna Maxine Guthrie Fowler

Mrs. Fowler was born May 3, 1931 in Hopewell, VA and raised in Richmond, VA. She loved life and was passionate about her church, Creedmoor Road Baptist, and her close-knit Sunday school class. An avid collector she enjoyed dining out and traveling. Her friends and family were always blessed by her beautiful eyes, infectious smile and sharp wit.

She is survived by her husband, B.T. "Bill" Fowler; sister-in-law, Betty S. Guthrie; daughter, Ann M. Fowler; son Earl F. Fowler and his wife Janice; granddaughter, Carla F. Propst and her husband Brian; great-granddaughter, Kayla E. Propst; many special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by parents, Isaac and Mattie Guthrie; brothers, Irvin, Rudolph, Randolph and Roland Guthrie; and sisters, Rose Keever and Ella Mae Kurtz.

The family wishes to thank Pastors Don Cashwell and Don Gilbert and the staffs of The Oaks at Mayview and Rex Hospital for the excellent care and attention Maxine received.

Funeral services will be held on Monday December 3, at Mitchell's Funeral Home on Glenwood Ave. Raleigh, NC. Family will receive friends and family from 1:30- 3:00 pm; service will start at 3:00 pm.
