Elizabeth Graham Hendren

Visitation will be on Thursday, February 24, from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 300 St. Mary's St, Raleigh, NC. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 on Friday, February 25, at Edenton Street United Methodist Church with Rev. Matt Ashburn officiating. Burial will follow at 3:00 at Beaver Dam Cemetery, McColl, SC. Arrangements are made by Brown-Wynne Funeral Home.

Lib was born in McColl, SC, to John C. and Betty S. Graham on September 22, 1914. She graduated from high school in McColl in 1931 and married Richard A. Hendren on January 1, 1943.

She was employed by Phillips Petroleum Company in Raleigh for more than 35 years and was very involved in the Jane Phillips Sorority. She was a member of the Edenton Street United Methodist Church and an active circle member. She was also a member of the Hills and Pines Garden Club, and a long-time member of the Business and Professional Womens' Club of Raleigh, and a founding member of the Cathy Club.

She was preceded in death by her sister Johnsie G. Hearn, brother James Vernon Graham and her husband Richard A. Hendren, Sr. She is survived by their son Richard A. Hendren, Jr., nieces Diane Brantley, Debbie Coffield, Ninetta Basham, and nephew Donald Hearn, and by many great and great great nieces and nephews.

Suggestions for memorials are Hospice of Wake County, Edenton Street United Methodist Church, the American Cancer Society, and the March of Dimes.
