Elvie Pauline Pilkington Kirk of 512 Maywood Ave in Raleigh went to be with "her Jesus" on Tuesday afternoon surrounded by loved ones. She was born in Johnston County on June 4, 1922, the daughter of Charlie and Ilon Pilkington.
Service will be held at the Temple of Pentecost on Thursday, June 3, at 12 noon. The family will receive friends 7-9 pm Wednesday at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home St. Mary’s St.
She is survived by her children daughter Brenda Dolen and her husband, Donald Dolen, son Earl Lewis Kirk III and his wife Jean Kirk, son Charles Kirk and his wife Barbara Kirk, daughter Karen Adkins, daughter Lisa Blake and her husband Robert Blake Jr, sixteen grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, and 11 great great grand children-all whom loved her very much. She was preceeded in death by her husband of 53 years Earl Lewis Kirk Jr. and grandson Justin Earl Blake. Arrangements by Brown Wynne Funeral Home on St Marys St in Raleigh. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to Amedisys Hospice of Garner.
