Frances Pauline Pfaff, fondly known as Fran, 82, of Youngsville, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at UNC Rex Hospital on April 25, 2025. She was born in Passaic, NJ on October 28, 1942 to the late Benjamin Joseph Fornalik and Emily Kobylarz Fornalik.
Fran was a devoted and beloved wife and mother who always put the needs of her family above her own. She had many hobbies and interests like sewing, knitting, crocheting, embroidery, and cooking... excelling at each. She was an avid reader, consuming 2-4 novels each week. She also enjoyed the beach and swimming (and was even a skilled water-skier in her younger days). She loved nothing more than spending time, sharing laughs, and making memories with her family, friends, and neighbors.
Along with her parents, Fran was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 52 years, George Pfaff; her sister, Christine Fornalik; her brother-in-law, Les Huber; and her son-in-law, Vincent Pudelski.
She is survived by her children: daughter, Michele Pudelski; son, Michael Dohmyer, and wife, Phyllis; son, Kurt Pfaff, and wife Patty; and sister, Mary Ann Huber. The lights of her life were her grandchildren: Alyssa Givney and husband, AJ; Alex Pudelski; Zach Pudelski; Matthew Pfaff; and Sarah Grace Pfaff. She also leaves behind a host of loving cousins, nieces, aunts, uncles, friends and neighbors. She will be sorely missed by many and her gentle, loving spirit will be carried on by all that knew her.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at Saint Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church at 11:00am on Tuesday, June 3, 2025. Following the funeral mass, family will receive friends at Brigs Restaurant at 12338 Wake Union Church Rd, Wake Forest, North Carolina for a repast.
A private interment will take place at East Carolina Veterans Cemetery where she will be together, once again, with her beloved husband.
