

It is with deep sadness that the family of Frank Eric Batko announces his passing on November 3, 2024 at the age of 78. Frank was born on July 12, 1946, in Baltimore, Maryland to Joseph Walter Batko and Irene Sakowski Batko.
A beloved father, brother, uncle and friend, Frank was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him and his passing has left a void in the hearts of those touched by him. His journey on this earth was one marked by love, compassion, and unwavering faith in God.
Throughout his life, Frank was deeply committed to family and friends and will be remembered for his quick jokes, witty charm, outgoing nature, and never-tiring help and support. Frank made his career as an electrician, serving the Department of Defense and nuclear sites. Raised near the Chesapeake Bay, Frank had a lifelong passion for boating and spending time around the water. As a car enthusiast, his passion ranged from selling to racing cars. Frank was always up for quality time playing cards or backgammon with family and friends.
Frank is preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Irene Batko, and his brother Richard Walter Batko.
Frank is survived by his sons, Frank Batko, Junior and Steven Eric Long; his grandson, Tyler Scott Phillips; his sister, Jo Ann Reilly; his nephew, Charles Walter Batko; his nieces, Johanna Renee Song and Jorene Reilly Smeltzer; and great-nephew, Evan Richard Song.
A service is being planned at Hayes Barton Baptist Church in Raleigh, date and time to be determined.
Those wishing to express sympathy in a meaningful way may make a donation to the American Cancer Society, in lieu of sending flowers.
Brown-Wynne, 300 Saint Mary's St., Raleigh, NC, is serving the Batko family.
