She was born to Franklin Howard Hemric and Jessie Cook Hemric on September 26, 1954, in Atlanta, Georgia. Frankie is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Richard (Ricky) Howard Hemric. Frankie is survived by her brother Danny Hemric of Sanford, NC along with her loving special family Britain and Elias Tuck of Mt. Airy, NC.
Frankie attended Farmville High School where she made lifelong friends and wonderful memories. In 1972 she graduated from Jordan Matthews High School in Siler City, NC. She then entered NCSU and completed her BS in Math Education. Her dedication and support of NCSU remained unwavering. After earning her CPA accreditation, Frankie’s accounting career spanned many agencies, including the NC Utilities Commission Public Staff, the NC Department of Public Instruction, Durham Public Schools, and most recently Trinity Academy.
After retiring Frankie volunteered and enjoyed travel. Some of her favorite trips included Hawaii, Italy and Greece. She could be found either at a NCSU ballgame, tailgate or in front of the TV cheering on any Wolfpack competition.
Frankie’s friends describe her as kind, loving, funny, dedicated and generous. Frankie’s love for children made her the perfect aunt to so many. She attended their games, graduations, beach adventures, and made trips to Texas and Georgia. She always had words and sent many cards filled with encouragement and praise as simple expressions of her love and acceptance.
With an enthusiastic love for life, Frankie celebrated holidays by displaying her many decorations, modeled southern hospitality by her porch sitting times and expressed joy by declaring everyone should dance like no one was watching. She taught others to be kind, to conserve, to share and to show up.
The dearest to Frankie were her friends and family. She loved the music of Clay Aiken, and she traveled with Claymates to see him perform. Her “boyfriend” is Keith Urban, and she was so excited to see him perform. She could get up early every Saturday morning looking for bargains at yard sales. She loved watching the sunsets at the beach.
We are grateful for Frankie’s life and the experiences we all had together, and she will be truly missed.
In lieu of flowers Frankie has requested donations be made to North Carolina State University College of Management Jessie and Howard Hemric Inspiration Scholarship in Accounting Endowment: go.ncsu.edu/carrigan-memorial.
