During some dark days in my youth, Uncle Fred opened up his home and family to me and treated me more like a son than a nephew. We would often have lengthy discussions in those days about many and varied topics and while I may not have recognized it back then, there was always wisdom to be found in much of what he had to say. His zest for life knew no bounds starting with his love and devotion for his wife and family. You could witness this same enthusiasm whenever he would sit down and share some of his spare time playing a game of cards or chess. As others have already pointed out, he seemed to get more active as he grew older. He took up bicycle riding later in his life and excelled at it, riding in the senior Olympics and winning many awards of which he was most proud. He loved swimming all his life and later on would add dancing with the Cross Trailers to his list of activities. He loved to travel and over the course of his life saw a great deal of the scenic beauty this world has to offer. I have a lifetime of good memories of Uncle Fred and am grateful I had the opportunity to see and hug him a very short time before he was called back home by our Maker. Dad, I may not have said it, but I was so proud to have you as my dad. You, and mom, gave me my love of travel which I am passing on to Kathryn and Amanda.  I will never forget all the vacations, and cruises we took together.  I was so proud to say, my dad cycle's in the Senior Games and has many medals.  It was great to come and see you race; it was payback for all those times you came to cheer me on at my swim meets. I will make sure that the girls know a thing or two about cars, like changing a flat tire and their oil; something you made sure I knew how to do.  Although we had some arguments, I know we loved each other very much. Your China dolls will never forget you, and all the times they got to play with you. Daddy, I going to miss you so very much. Our condolences to the entire Linck family on Fred's passing.  We spent time with Fred a couple times a year and always enjoyed our conversations.  His passion for his family and his hobbies was refreshing.

I was so sorry to hear about Fred. I will always remember his energy and enthusiasm for life. It seemed like he squeezed everything he could out of life whether it was bike riding or square dancing. I always admired his athletic cycling ability in his senior years when most of us are slowing down. He was a great conversationalist and seemed to enjoy discussing the latest current event. I know that he will be missed!

R.I.P Grandpa<33333 ...ever since I was a baby girl, you were at my side.  I may not have been able to see you always but you were always in my mind.  I've loved you since I could remember and I am going to miss you so much.  You will always have a special place in my heart and I am going to cherish the memories we had forever.  I know you are in a much better place and you are loving it there.  I hope you're looking down on me right now.  You're now another one of my guardian angels.  I love you so much grandpa! Fred will always be a good memory for me while a member of the Cary Crosstrailers, his positive attitude and enthusiasm will be missed

I will always remember Fred's energy and enthusiasm for bike-riding. At an age when most people slow down, he sped up.
