

Harold Bell Fuller, 93, died January 16, 2017. The son of the late George Robinson Fuller, Sr. and Belle Parker Fuller, he was a graduate of Wake Forest University and a member of Alpha Sigma Phi Fraternity. A retired NC State Employee; he served three departments during his career, including revenue, public instruction and insurance. He authored the original guidelines and standards for establishing the insurance institute of North Carolina. While serving with a field artillery BN in Europe during WWII, he earned four bronze service stars to the E.A.M.E.T. Campaign Medal after landing on Utah Beach in Normandy in 1944.
He was a member of the First Army during the Belgium Bulge and the Third Army in Germany. After his honorable discharge, he became a Senior Vice Commander Post 2771, V.F.W., Kinston, NC. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Hiram 40 Masonic Lodge, York Rite and a Noble of the Mystic Shrine. He was a Past Master of Enoch Council #5, Royal and Select Master Masons.
He is survived by his wife, Inez Elliott Fuller and six nieces.
Family will receive friends on Thursday, January 19, 2017 from 1:30 – 2:30 pm at Mitchell Funeral Home. A formal procession to Raleigh Memorial Park, Graveside Service, officiated by Rev. Para Drake, will begin afterwards. Military Honors will conclude the service.
