Haywood Earl Whichard

Haywood Earl Whichard, 77, of Raleigh, North Carolina passed away suddenly on June 2nd, 2015 in his home. Haywood was a devoted husband, outstanding father, and a one of a kind grandfather. His creativity and generosity was unsurpassed. Born in Grimesland, NC, preceded in death by his parents, Kennith P. and Rosa Vainwright Whichard, and his siblings, Marion Swanner, Pauline Edwards, and Eugene Whichard. Haywood was a successful and accomplished entrepreneur, and real estate investor. His magical character touched all - he had a wit and a sense of humor that was unmatched. Most notably, Haywood was characterized by a genuine authenticity. Those of us fortunate enough to know and love him will be “forever yours” as he continues to live on in our hearts and memories.

Haywood is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Angela Tyson Whichard: children, Kenneth Whichard (Michelle), Chadwick Ryan Whichard (fiancé , Gretchen Wald), Kimberly Gina Whichard, Randall Todd Whichard (Austin), Karen Mills Corey (Vic), and Haywood Whichard, Jr. ; grandchildren, Kenny, Lexi, Tori, Ellie and Tyler ; and siblings, Kennith Paul Whichard (Coral), Betsy Lou Whichard and Jane McRoy.

A visitation will be held Friday, June 5 from 11:00 - 1:00 at Raleigh Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel, 7501 Glenwood Ave., Raleigh, NC with a funeral service beginning at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow the services.
