Hilary Dexter Daugherty died quietly at his home Sunday, August 15, 2010. He was born in Kinston, NC on November 10, 1926. Memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 19, 2010 at 2:00 pm in the Wynne Center at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 300 St Mary's St, Raleigh NC. You are invited to visit with the family immediately following the service.
Mr. Daugherty was a graduate of NC State Textile School and UNC Law School. He had retired from private law practice and pursued his interests in gardening and photography. Hilary is survived by his wife, the former Alice Wanner; son Bill Daugherty of Augusta, Ga; daughters Karen Thickstun of Nashville, In, Beverly Bradley of Charlotte, NC, and Emily Donawho of Dallas, Tx, and six grandchildren; a sister Glady Cattanach of Kernersville, NC.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Habitat for Humanity, or to a charity of your choice.
