James C. Taylor, Jr., 91, passed away on April 8, 2016. He was born to Anna H. & James C. Taylor, Sr. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Dorothy Goodwin Taylor, daughter, Donna T. Hirschi, grandchildren; Stephanie P. Pomeroy (Chad), Lindsay P. Pierce, Brandon T. Poole, great-grandson, Dylan Pierce. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, James E. Taylor. He retired from NCSU Dept. of Horticulture after 34 years.
He was an active member of Westover United Methodist Church for over 60 years.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Mitchell Funeral Home, 7209 Glenwood Ave, Raleigh on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive guests one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Raleigh Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial gifts be made to Transitions Hospice, 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh or Westover United Methodist Church, 300 Powell Dr., Raleigh.
