John is survived by his wife of 45 years, Elizabeth M. Gonella; sister, Miriam Honeycutt; son, John Felix Gonella III, and wife, Margaret Ann; daughter, Charlotte Reid Gonella; and grandsons, Felix, Hughes, and Ellis Gonella.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., on May 1, 2017, at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 300 St. Mary’s St., Raleigh, NC 27605.
