John Norris Miller, 86, passed away after a brief illness on August 18, 2017. Born on September 27, 1930 in Salisbury, NC; he was the son of the late Clyde Luther Miller and Maude Norris Miller. John graduated from Boyden High School, attended Catawba College and served honorably in the US Army. He owned and operated Buffalo Tire & Automotive and Tires-n-Parts for over 40 years in downtown Raleigh.
Hs is survived by his children: Rick Miller and wife Teresa, of Raleigh and Amy Robertson and husband Matt, of Greenville, NC; grandchildren: Richard and Brian Miller, Ashley and Kristina Miller, and Taylor and Jack Perkinson; great-grandchildren: Bailee Clementz and Jordyn Miller; and by his companion: Margaret Baucus, of Raleigh.
John was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Underwood Miller in 1997; by his son: David Norris Miller in 2016; and by his sister, Betty Lou McCurry.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 23rd from 10-11 am at Mitchell Funeral Home, with Funeral Services to begin at 11 am in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Raleigh Memorial Park.
