John Joseph Viccaro, III (Trey), age 21, beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend, was unexpectedly taken to our Lord on August 30th, 2025. He is survived by his parents, John Joseph Viccaro, Jr, and Dawn Michelle Viccaro; sister Mia Bay Viccaro; loving grandparents Chester (Crash) and Joyce Robins; and many loving extended family members. He was preceded in death by his grandmother Bertha Anne (Jackie) Viccaro and his grandfather John Joseph Viccaro, Sr.
Trey was born and raised in Raleigh, NC and graduated from Heritage High School in 2022. He was a joy to know and though he left us much to soon, we cherish amazing memories and hold dear the time we had. Not only was he a beautiful and honest soul, he was a wildly entertaining character too. He had a kind, genuine, thoughtful personality that made him impossible not to like. His relaxed, easygoing nature was downright disarming. And he was just so funny. His sense of humour was so quick and clever, it would catch you off guard and have you laughing hysterically in the most unexpected moments. His natural gift for impersonations just amplified the comedy.
He adored his sister and treasured his family and friends. He was adventurous. He loved camping and the outdoors, the beach, the mountains and was an avid fisherman. Taking after his dad, he was a smart problem solver and great working with his hands. He built computers and he worked on cars, for himself, family and friends. He especially enjoyed carpentry and completed several beautiful woodworking projects, large and small.
He loved cooking for everyone and had mastered many skills both in the kitchen and at the grill. Steaks to perfection, fall-off-the-bone ribs, and rich baked mac-n-cheese were a few of his specialties that could not be beat.
Trey also loved and cared for animals of all varieties. He was a knowledgeable aquarist. He loved his dog Bentley, adopted a lost bearded dragon, rescued a tiny stray kitten, contacted a wildlife rehabber for an injured hawk, and delivered an injured turtle to the NC State Turtle Rescue Team for care.
Trey had countless dreams about his future and acquired numerous skills that would help him achieve them. He will be remembered for many things, including his kindness and laughter, his strength and courage.
John 3:16 - For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
