

wife of 60 years. He was also embraced by his loving children. He was born in Birmingham, Alabama on June 15, 1928, to his parents Joseph and Angela (Roman) Lovoy.
Joseph served the Lord first and lived by the Golden Rule, “in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you” (Matt. 7:12). He served in the US Army Reserves during the Korean War. Joseph was the operations manager at JC Penney’s at North Hills for over 25 years. He was a strong leader and blessed those whom he worked with by the highest integrity and honesty. He left a lasting impression on all those he met.
Joseph is lovingly remembered by his dear wife, Anna and they were blessed with four children; Mary Grace Lovoy went to be with the Lord on March 28, 1981; and he is survived by his son Michael Lovoy and his wife Jerri, of FL, and his daughters Karisse Murgo and husband Joe, of Charlotte, and Laura Damico and husband Doug, of Raleigh. He will also be deeply missed by his grandchildren, Alexandra, Garrett, and Anna Grace. He was predeceased by his brothers Vincent, Louis and Angelo Lovoy.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday March 1st, 2011, at Mitchell Funeral Home, 7209 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh, NC. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 – 11:00 am. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Raleigh Memorial Park.
