

Judith “Judy” Parrish Crenshaw, 76, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, February 22, 2022 at Sunrise of Raleigh after suffering dementia following a head injury. Born on March 8, 1945 in Durham, NC; she was the daughter of the late Grady C. Parrish and Josephine Cates Parrish.
After finishing business school, Judy worked briefly for the Internal Revenue Service in Durham, NC; served as an administrative assistant at the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency; and then as an editorial assistant at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences for the magazine, Environmental Health Perspectives.
She is lovingly remembered by her husband of 40 years, John David Crenshaw of Raleigh; their son: Jason Stevens of Fanwood, NJ; grandchildren Lotus and Elias Stevens of Fanwood, New Jersey; sister, Joan Swain of Durham, NC; nephews, Thomas Swain and Jeffery Swain of Durham, NC; and niece, Angela Hamlett of High Point, NC.
Judy met her husband, John Crenshaw, while working at EPA. Judy’s hobbies were gourmet cooking, exercise, and relaxing on the sand at Topsail Beach, NC. She often volunteered at a Junior League of Raleigh thrift store and at a Helping Hands Mission food kitchen in Raleigh. Judy will be remembered by all her friends and family as a lively and fun-loving person who never met a stranger.
Family and friends are welcomed to a Memorial Gathering Celebrating Judy’s Life to be held on Saturday, February 26, 2022 from 6:00 pm to 8:00pm at the Babymoon Café in Morrisville, NC.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Helping Hands Mission at 623 Rock Quarry Road Raleigh, NC 27610.
