

Karl was born April 22, 1939, in Germany to the late Carl Julius Przyrembel and Gertrud Cymara Przyrembel. He and his family immigrated from Germany in 1954. He graduated from Alfred State College in Alfred, New York with an associate degree. Soon afterwards he began working for General Electric as a semi-conductor engineer. Later completing his bachelor degree from Brescia College in Kentucky. He worked for GE in Kentucky and Raleigh, where it became Harris Semiconductors, until he retired in 2000.
Karl loved the outdoors. He was an avid hunter and gardener. In Kentucky he had beautiful vegetable and rose gardens. There he also raised chickens, rabbits, and pigeons. His love of gardening followed when they moved to North Carolina in 1984. He loved his banana plant, which was a gift from his wife. He grew vegetables, fruit trees. He had multiple fig trees and persimmon trees, as well in Raleigh.
Surviving Karl, in addition to his wife, Paula, are his 3 children, sons Karl Hugo Hoffmann of Charlotte, NC and Kurt Heinz Hoffmann, of Portland, Oregon and daughter, Kathie Hoffmann Martin, and her husband Owais Patel of Fuquay Varina and grandchild Joseph Cutty Martin. He is also survived by his brother Heinz Georg Hoffmann and his wife Monika Hoffmann and Sister Gerda Medgyaszay. He also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 6, 2024 in the Chapel of Mitchell Funeral Home, with Pastor Mike Lee officiating. Burial with Military Honors followed in Raleigh Memorial Park.
