Kathleen Woody Nash went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 17th after a brief illness, surrounded by loving family. She leaves behind a devoted daughter, Charlene, granddaughter Julianne and grandson Philip and many loving nieces, nephews and other family members.
A Durham native, Kathleen graduated from Bragtown High School and later Watts Hospital School of Nursing. She completed graduate work in public health at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. She married the love of her life William Nash, after he returned from service in World War II, and they set out on a life together. As an FBI Agent, William’s first duty office was Washington DC, where Kathleen worked as a nurse for the public health service. After he was transferred to the New York City office, she settled down to become a full time mother and home maker.
Never one to remain idle, she served in church, teaching Sunday school, visiting the sick and elderly, serving as a volunteer in rehabilitation centers, and leading a Girl Scout Troop. After retiring to Raleigh, she and William became active and devout members of Trinity Baptist Church.
She will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the "Nash Fund for Pastoral Education", Trinity Baptist Church, Raleigh, NC
Services will be held on Saturday, July 22nd, 2017 at 11:00 am at Trinity Baptist Church, 4815 Six Forks Rd., Raleigh with visitation to begin at 10:00 am.
