Born October 12, 1969, to loving parents Joan and Prentiss, Kristi was the youngest of three daughters, growing up with her older sisters Kim and Kelly. As a child, Kristi was not only kind, beautiful, and loving but also an extraordinary gymnast. That passion carried her to East Carolina University, where she competed as a collegiate cheerleader while earning her degree in special education.
Kristi’s compassion and joyful spirit made her an exceptional special education teacher. She had a rare gift of connecting with children. After several years of teaching, Kristi followed her heart and devoted herself fully to raising her own children.
Being a mother was Kristi's greatest accomplishment. She adored her two sons, Colton and Landon, and her love for them knew no bounds. She was their biggest fan, attending every game, cooking their favorite meals, and welcoming their friends into her home. As her boys grew into remarkable young men, Kristi was incredibly proud watching them build their own lives. She couldn’t have been happier this past May when she welcomed Taylor, Colton's wife, into the family.
Kristi's love, generosity, and infectious joy will be deeply missed. Her legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched. We find comfort knowing she has found eternal rest with Jesus, and we will reunite with her again.
A visitation for Kristi was held Friday, September 19, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home & Crematory, 300 Saint Mary's Street, Raleigh, NC 27605. Graveside services were private.
In honor of Kristi’s lifelong love of animals, the family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the SPCA of Wake County, 200 Petfinder Lane, Raleigh, NC 27603.
