Larry Vincent Hirschfield

Larry V. Hirschfield, 92 years of age, from Raleigh, NC., passed away peacefully on August 8, 2023. Larry was predeceased by his parents Sidney Alfred Hirschfield and Anne Therese Hirschfield, of Detroit,MI., his brother Sid Hirschfield (Virginia),his sister Virginia Naour (John) and sister-in-law Nicole Hirschfield.

Larry was outgoing, competitive, hard working,and loved a good joke. He was a kind man and known to run into people he knew everywhere he went. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Reba D. (aka Mike) Hirschfield, his brother Alan Hirschfield, his children Donna Hirschfield, Carolyn Miller (Tom), Larry Hirschfield (Diane), Kathy Trumbo (Tom), Michael Hirschfield (Marsha), Sandra Rahman, (Gino), Edward Micyus (Shelly), Steven Micyus (Barb),15 Grandchildren and 9 great Grandchildren.

Larry served as a Sergeant, MP Reserves in the U.S. Army with honorable discharge in1961. In 1951 Larry started his over 50 year career in Tool Steel starting at Jones Laughlin Steel Corp., as a shipping clerk, working his way up to Supervisor. Larry moved on to Peninsular Steel Corp. in phone sales and continued his passion for sales at Kurtz Steel, retiring as partner/owner of Integrity Steel in 1995. Larry loved laughing, fishing, cards, golf and making a side bet for a dollar with fellow members, friends & family at Indianwood Golf & Country Club, MI., Carolina Trace Country Club, NC. and Glen Lakes Country Club, FL.

The U.S.Army will be honoring Larry with a graveside service being held on Thursday, August 24, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Raleigh Memorial Park, 7501 Glenwood Ave, Raleigh, NC 27612.

There will be a Celebration of Life in Michigan on Sunday, October 15, 2023, 12:00 p.m.- 4:00 p.m. at Indianwood Golf & Country Club, 1081 Indianwood Rd., Lake Orion, MI. 48362.
