Lois Hardee Stephenson, age 89, died Friday July 6th, 2012 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born April 28th, 1923 to Stella Branch and James A. Hardee, Sr. in Nash County. She was a loving wife, mother, and home maker. After her husband's retirement she spent time fishing at Barnacle Bill's Pier in Surf City, NC where she was an active member of the Topsail Island Fishing Club with a group of dear friends. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church from shortly after its founding.

She was predeceased by her husband Elmon (Buster) Stephenson, one son, David, and by one sister and two brothers. Lois is survived by son Gene and wife Lee, son Dick and wife Grace, daughter Ellen Saunders and husband David, daughters-in-law Kim and Kathy all of Raleigh, six grandchildren and six great grandchildren of Raleigh, NC, Austin, TX and Cleveland, TN and two sisters, Doris H. Mitchell and Marjorie E. Hardee of Raleigh, NC.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00 pm Monday at Emmanuel Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at the church Fellowship Hall one hour prior to the funeral. Special thanks are extended to her three Ruths for their devoted care of mom. Ruth 1:16-17
