Marcus was a great man and was always willing to help anyone in need without a second thought. Without Marcus I never would have met the mother of my beautiful son, Miles. He will forever be in our hearts, thoughts and prayers.  RIP Mark

Marcus will always remain in our hearts as a good and honorable man and we are privileged to have know him as a young boy growing up in Garner. He and our son Sean were good friends.  I can still see them and all the kids running around either at our  house or the Johnson’s or at the church gym for scouts and basketball.  Our family will always remember Marcus with great fondness appreciation💖

Marcus was a genuine and caring person.  I always enjoyed time with him.  Shared summers at grandma and grandpa's as kids and most every family reunion activity were all enriched with his presence.  We will all miss you until we meet agai, Marcus.

Marcus always took time for his family, and always let you know how much he cared about you. Growing up, I only saw Marcus every couple years or so, but as an adult I got to spend more time with him and see him in his element in NC. Marcus taught me a lot about many different things: 90s movies and hip hop, how to spatchcock a turkey, and making pens at family camp. The most important thing he taught me though was that love is powerful and everybody deserves it. I think his greatest legacy will be how much more we all love our friends, families, and neighbors because of his influence.

The world has lost a kind, pure soul.   Marcus was so fun to talk to and easy to connect with—he made time for everyone in the most genuine way.  He was always quick with a laugh and a funny Southern saying in his Carolina twang. He will be greatly missed—for his sincerity, thoughtfulness and ability to make all feel wanted and welcome. Marcus was easy to love and will be hard to forget.  We were lucky to know him, and blessed to love him.
Until we meet again—Nate &  Annette, Emma, & Dallin, Jay & Hannah, Zach and Cache.

I send my condolences to wonderful Johnson family. I have great memories of time spent with Marcus when we were kids.  I pray for peace, fond memories, and closeness for your family.

Surely Marcus' kindness will be remembered by He who said "If ye have done it unto the least of these, ye have done it until me"
