Marge Rushton Walker

Marge (88) passed away on February 16, 2023. She is survived by her daughters Kelley Walker of Raleigh and Leslie Walker Davey and her husband Bill Davey of Raleigh; granddaughter, Paige Eason and husband Brian Eason of Raleigh; granddaughter, Anna Walker Gillespie of Southern Pines; two step-grandchildren, Michael Davey and wife Jordan Davey of Lakeland, Florida, Elizabeth Muehlfelder and husband Preston Muehlfelder of Raleigh, and four beloved great-grandchildren.

Marge was born on July 08, 1934 in Aiken County, South Carolina, and was the only child of Mary Spires Rushton and John Kelly Rushton, where she spent her childhood. Upon graduation from Leavelle McCampbell High School, she attended the University of South Carolina. She married Bill Walker on January 14, 1956. Bill worked for Eli Lilly, and lived in several cities in the Midwest before settling in Raleigh in 1971. She has been a member of Highland United Methodist Church since 1971, where Marge served as co-chairman of the Worship Committee for several years. She was an active docent at Mordecai Square for over 25 years, was a member of Raleigh Fine Arts Society, a member of 1789 Questers, and a member of the N.C. Museum of Art.

A Visitation was held on Saturday, February 18th, 2023 at Mitchell Funeral Home, 7209 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh, North Carolina 27612.
